We are going out to make our final conquer before our alumni term 2006/2007 comes to an end. We are setting the bar for adventure even higher this time by climbing Mount Kinabalu in Sabah. What an exciting way to end our alumni term by having this summit climb. Now you will get your chance to complete your dream of climbing Mount Kinabalu by joining our UTS Alumni Mount Kinabalu Summit Trip Rising majestically to a height of 4,095 metres (13,432 feet) above sea level, Mt. Kinabalu is the highest mountain in South East Asia and one of the nature site with a recognized World Heritage Status in Malaysia. An excellent challenge to all climbers and a paradise for those who simply admire nature. Day 1 KL to KK: Assemble at airport for early morning flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival a chartered van will take us up to Kinabalu National Park for an overnight at Mesilau Lodge. Day 2 Up Mesilau Trail: We gather to begin our trek up the new Mesilau Trail to Laban Rata covering a total of 6kms. We spend the night in heated dorms in Laban Rata 3,290m. Day 3 Peak Mount Kinabalu: The summit trek begins in the dark hours of the morning in time to catch the sunrise if weather permits. A pantomime of shapes, forms and colours is an experience not to be missed. Begin descent before the morning mist rolls in. Breakfast at Laban Rata and continue to the Park where successful climbers will receive a certificate to prove their conquest. After lunch and a short rest, depart for Kota Kinabalu at 4.00 pm.
