UTS PDP: Resilience Entrepreneurial Leadership |
|
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Alumni Malaysian Chapter
invites you to an enlightening Journey of
Entrepreneurship with David Wee, Founder and CEO of
Asia Speakers Bureau and DW Associates Pte Ltd from
Singapore. To make this journey successfully, we
will have to become leaders. This workshop is about
how leaders see, inspire and achieve. And a new
leadership is required, i.e. entrepreneurial
leadership that emphasizes flexibility, change,
innovation and responsiveness.
About The Topic
The leader needs two intellectual abilities that are
usually not formally assessed in an academic way;
the leader needs to have a sense for the unknowable
and be able to foresee the unforeseeable. This is
partly what gives a leader their ‘lead’, what puts
them out ahead and qualified them to show the way.
In short it’s foresight – the central ethic of
leadership.
Leaders, therefore, must be creative than most, and
creativity is largely discovery, a push into the
unchartered and the unknown. When the successes and
failure of companies are examined, it is clear that
achievement over the long-term depends on the
ability to innovate, and take the leadership role in
the industry. In the future, business success will
be determined by innovation and swiftness to market.

Australian Universities International Alumni
Convention (AUIAC) 2008 |
|
Network with Australian Alumni
The sixth Australian Universities International
Alumni Convention (AUIAC) 2008 will be held in
Singapore from 10 to 13 June 2008 at the SUNTEC
Singapore International Convention and Exhibition
Centre. The AUIAC 2008 will bring together
illustrious alumni of Australian Universities,
tertiary and professional institutions, as well as
global partners of these alumni, to deliberate on
relevant issues impacting the world today. AUIAC
2008 provides a global forum for the exchange of
expert opinions and sharing of significant
knowledge, and would generate tremendous
opportunities for future business networking that
would benefit the participants as well as
Singapore. Experts will share their insights guided
by the AUIAC 2008 theme of "Futuropolis: The Way
Ahead thru Alumni Connections" - with wide ranging
knowledge covering health, family, community,
education, science, innovation, information
technology, etc. To be held in Singapore for the
very first time, AUIAC 2008 would be a manifestation
of the city-state as a preferred global venue for
global business, tertiary education and MICE
(Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and
Exhibitions).
The Australian Universities International Alumni
Convention (AUIAC) is a bi-annual conference that
brings together Australian Alumni from around the
world. It provides opportunities for alumni to
network and hear speakers focusing on the challenges
and opportunities in today's global environment.
UTSAAMC
will be sending delegates to attend this event and
we would welcome interested UTS Alumni to contact
President David (012-2045191)
for more details regarding this event.

UTS members with Joey Yap in Sydney, Australia |
|
“Horse will be having a bad year in 2008….so if you
have friends born in the year of the Horse; you
disassociate yourself from them…”
And to roars of laughter from his perplexed
audience, Joey Yap set an upbeat and rousing mood at
the Star City Hotel in Sydney Australia as he
addressed hundreds of people on Good to Great in
2008, Joey Yap’s Feng Shui and Astrology 2008.
“It is our objective to bring Eastern Classical
knowledge on Feng Shui to Australia, and the
overwhelming success of this event has indeed
brought us a step closer”, said Eddy Yap, Course
Manager of the Mastery Academy of Chinese
Metaphysics based in the Australian Office in Perth.
All passes sponsored by the Mastery Academy had run
out in just less than half an hour. These passes
were available exclusively for UTS members and
proudly brought to you by the UTS Alumni Malaysian
Chapter.
“This is a fantastic initiative,” said Tze Ay Chuah,
the Director for UTS International.
A
number of UTS graduates from Malaysia, who are
currently based in Sydney were present as Joey
pointed out that, “Feng Shui is not about putting
items here and there and turning your house into a
Chinese restaurant. Classical Feng Shui revolves
around 3 important factors, which are direction,
location and time…”
As always, Joey Yap’s seminar is never complete
without his Face Reading (Mian Xiang) tips and this
time he made it even more exciting as he combined it
with BaZi and the 12 zodiac animals, which proved to
be a huge hit with his audience. The audience also
had the opportunity to meet Joey Yap close-up during
the book signing session towards the end of the
event.

If you had missed out on the
event but would like to receive a FREE précis of the
talk on ‘Feng Shui & Astrology forecast in 2008’,
simply send your request to

with the header “FSA2008 Notes”.
